Purpose
Leadership Director Peihui Wang, a former English teacher at Chengdu No.7 High School and a former exchange teacher at Cambridge (MA) Rindge and Latin School (1996-1997), has an M.A. in Intercultural Leadership and Management from the School of International Training. Deputy Director Ryan Martinson lived in China for over six years, where he studied (Fudan University, Beijing Language and Culture University, and the Hopkins-Nanjing Center) and taught (the Long Gang Experimental School in Shenzhen and the China Agricultural University in Beijing). He has a M.A. in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy. Charlotte Mason founded The China Exchange Initiative. She currently serves as the organization's Director of Development. Each year the CEI staff visits bureaus of education and departments of education, and schools in China and in the United States. We have learned through long experience and many trials and errors how best to create U.S.-China school partnerships and exchange programs, and, in the process, to involve the community, maximize opportunities for students and teachers, enrich curriculum, build multicultural understanding, and enjoy international friendships, while keeping costs to a minimum. Funding The China Exchange Initiative is entirely funded by a grant from the Freeman Foundation to develop educational exchange programs between schools in the US and schools in China. |
